You Have Rights!

Welcome to Indigenous Kids Rights Path - the IKRP! This is a place where Indigenous children (on and off reserve) can learn about their rights and find links to help or resources if they feel their rights are not being respected.

It is also a place to learn more about things that sometimes make it harder for Indigenous children and young people to succeed, things that can help, and ways that we can all make a difference.

IKRP also includes resources on individual rights matters and contact information for emergency services such as child welfare complaints.

We hope you find your rights path!

Report a Jordan's Principle Case

If you are a First Nations child or know a First Nations child that needs public services, you can access them through Jordan's Principle. Jordan's Principle is a rule the Canadian Government has to follow that makes sure First Nations kids receive the services they need when they need them.

To get help accessing services and supports, call the 24-hour Jordan's Principle call centre at 1-855-572-4453

TTY: 1-866-553-0554
