National Aboriginal Nutrition Program

Canadian Feed the Children offers  the National Aboriginal Nutrition Program to ensure young Aboriginal students receive at least one nutritious meal during their school day and that families as well as communities receive programs to learn about nutrition. The program hopes to assist in combatting poor health and educational outcomes in many Aboriginal communities. 

Arctic Children and Youth Foundation

The Arctic Children and Youth Foundation provides overviews of current programs underway in Northern Canada by the foundation. These programs include Playing to Strength (engaging youth to speak about  the challenges they face to a healthy wellbeing), Sivuniksarmut Niriungniqarniq (School Suspension Program), Kamajiit (Safe Communities Program), and Better Drummer Boy (Booklet for health promotion).

Many Hands One Dream

Many Hands, One Dream is an initiative by the Canadian Paediatric Society to holistically improve the health of Aboriginal children, youth, and families across Canada.  The society advocates for Jordan's Principle and provides steps that community members can take to assist in creating this change for Aboriginal families. 

Your Movement

World Vision Youth Canada is a Christian advocacy organization which has created the Your Movement website  to share stories of youth engaged in social change across the world. The website aims to  inform youth about issues relating to poverty and to support youth who would like to be a part of the  change with their own World Vision Youth campaign.

Cahier de discussion pour les élèves de la 5e à la 8e année, provides the responses of  students in grades five to eight on what poverty looks like in various contexts and what actions have been, are, and should be taken to lessen the burden of poverty within communities. It was designed with the purpose to challenge assumptions about poverty and offer reflection on marginalized groups and their experiences of poverty.

Discusses why your rights as a young person are important and the UN Convention on the Rights of a Child. The specific rights, complaint process and supports for youth in care in British Columbia are summarized. Health care coverage, the youth justice system, mental health and many community services that may be useful in supporting young people's wellbeing are also detailed.
