The Toolkit: Canadian Coalition of Municipalities Against Racism and Discrimination offers strategies that municipalities can undertake to prevent racism and create inclusive communities. It provides specific chapters relating to the work of Aboriginal Peoples and Non-Aboriginal Peoples together in creating partnerships for a brighter future, and a chapter on youth engagement. These chapters provide examples of municipal strategies/programs which have successfully engaged youth and Aboriginal Peoples in forming the future of the municipality. 

The Healthy Children, Healthy Communities: Action Toolkit for Positive Change provides insight into how to engage youth, explains the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, frames health issues within a community as a rights issue,  builds upon community assets, and suggests activities to explore social and structural barriers in creating improved and holistic health outcomes for youth.  This resource by the United Nations Association in Canada essentially serves as a toolkit for social activism and community development. 

Monitoring Children's Rights: A Toolkit for Community-Based Organizations serves as a resource to introduce community service providers to children's rights, rights monitoring, and a community approach to monitoring through informative chapters, supplementary resources and learning activities. 

The  centres partnered with the Alberta Native Friendship Centres Association host events to share cultural traditions and gain awareness about challenges within the community, as well as engage community members of all ages. They also offer many key services and supports to enhance community and individual well being.
