Assembly of First Nations

The website of the Assembly of First Nations provides informative links to policy areas, resolutions, news and media, and AFN's stance on issues/changes affecting First Nations peoples. This site  provides useful information in regard to Aboriginal human rights recognized internationally by the UN and nationally by Canada. It also offers an overview on the AFN Youth Council and its work in social development, the National Youth Summit, Tri-Council, and Forums. 

Taking IT Global

Taking IT Global hosts opportunities online to connect youth and causes through petitions, online games, resources and action guides. There are many examples on this website of creative ways others have made a difference as well as ideas of how to spread the word about your campaign and engage community members. 

Kairos Canada

Kairos Canada is a faith-based social justice organization which works with community members and partners to advance human rights and ecological issues. Their website offers links to the Blanket Exercise to explore Indigenous history and lead participants  to a place of understanding, as well as various other initiatives and reports the organization has supported to educate the public about issues facing Indigenous children and communities. 

National Aboriginal Nutrition Program

Canadian Feed the Children offers  the National Aboriginal Nutrition Program to ensure young Aboriginal students receive at least one nutritious meal during their school day and that families as well as communities receive programs to learn about nutrition. The program hopes to assist in combatting poor health and educational outcomes in many Aboriginal communities. 

Legacy of Hope

The Legacy of Hope website offers various resources which discuss the history and legacy of the residential school system, as well as promising community-based practices for healing.

Arctic Children and Youth Foundation

The Arctic Children and Youth Foundation provides overviews of current programs underway in Northern Canada by the foundation. These programs include Playing to Strength (engaging youth to speak about  the challenges they face to a healthy wellbeing), Sivuniksarmut Niriungniqarniq (School Suspension Program), Kamajiit (Safe Communities Program), and Better Drummer Boy (Booklet for health promotion).

Martin Aboriginal Education Initiative

The Martin Aboriginal Education Initiative offers information on its education initiative, the need for this work ,and current initiatives under way to assist in bridging the gap between educational outcomes between Aboriginal Peoples and Non-Aboriginal Peoples.  These initiatives include the Aboriginal Youth Entrepreneurship Program, Accounting Mentorship Program, We Stand Together Campaign, Model Schools Project, and Promising Practices in Aboriginal Education website.
